Hello, friends!
I’m Jennifer, and I’m so grateful you’re here.
Welcome to Thyme & Tools, a place where gardening becomes more than growing plants—it becomes an opportunity to cultivate peace, resilience, and joy. Here, we grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, and, just as importantly, we grow ourselves.
A year ago, during one of the most challenging seasons of my life, I decided to build a greenhouse in my backyard. At first, I simply wanted a place to grow fresh vegetables and herbs so I could enjoy homegrown, farm-to-table meals with my family. What I didn’t expect was that my little greenhouse would become so much more.
It became my sanctuary.
Among the rows of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, strawberries, and tiny seedlings, I discovered something I didn’t even realize I was searching for: stillness. Spending time with my hands in the soil gave my mind permission to slow down. Watching seeds patiently transform into thriving plants reminded me that growth doesn’t happen overnight—and neither does healing.
That experience inspired me to create Thyme & Tools.
My hope is that this space encourages you to see gardening as more than a hobby. Whether you have a large greenhouse, a backyard garden, a few raised beds, or simply a pot of herbs on your windowsill, I believe every plant teaches us something about patience, resilience, and caring for ourselves.

Cooking has always been one of my greatest passions, and my greenhouse allows me to bring that passion full circle. There’s something incredibly rewarding about stepping outside to harvest fresh herbs and vegetables before creating a meal for the people you love. To me, gardening and cooking are deeply connected—they both remind us to slow down, appreciate simple moments, and nourish ourselves from the inside out.
Before creating Thyme & Tools, my path took me through several experiences that continue to shape everything I share here. I studied Culinary Arts because I’ve always believed food has a way of bringing people together. I later worked as a food specialist for a preschool day camp, where I loved introducing young children to healthy meals and new flavors. I also spent time as an elementary substitute teacher, discovering how much joy I find in encouraging curiosity and helping others learn. Looking back, it’s easy to see that gardening became the place where all of those passions naturally came together.
Those experiences planted a dream that continues to grow today. My hope is that one day Thyme & Tools becomes more than a website—a place where children and families can learn to grow their own food, cook simple farm-to-table recipes, and experience the confidence, patience, and joy that gardening can inspire. I truly believe that teaching the next generation where food comes from can nurture healthier habits, stronger families, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.
At Thyme & Tools, I believe every seed we plant is an opportunity to cultivate calm, clarity, creativity, and confidence—not just in our gardens, but in ourselves. Life has taught me that growth isn’t always easy, and some of my greatest lessons have come during difficult seasons. Gardening became the place where I learned that healing, like growing a garden, happens one small step at a time.
Whether you’re planting your very first tomato, dreaming of building a greenhouse, or simply searching for a peaceful place to slow down after a busy day, I’m so glad you found your way here.
I hope this little corner of the internet becomes a place you return to whenever you need inspiration, encouragement, practical gardening advice, or simply a reminder that beautiful things take time to grow.
So grab a cup of coffee, step into the garden, and let’s grow something beautiful together.
With gratitude,
Jennifer
